Inherited AI Liability was defined in March 2026 to name an exposure class that enterprises were already carrying but that no existing framework specifically addressed: the contractual, data-governance, and regulatory liability that accumulates across AI vendor relationships.
The IAIL Standard was built to govern that exposure across the complete lifecycle — before signature, after signature, during the relationship, and after termination. The methodology is published. The independence is structural.
